My Services

 

BIRTH DOULA PACKAGE:

Birth doula services are generally provided as a package for a flat fee, regardless of the number of hours of service provided during the labor and birth.  This way the family can relax knowing they don't have to pay more if the labor goes slowly.  My standard birth doula package includes:

 

  • One complimentary 30-minute consultation/interview appointment to ask questions, get to know me, and decide if I would be a good fit for you as a doula, and you as a client for me.

  • Three 90-minute prenatal appointments to clarify birth preferences, write/review a birth plan, discuss birth fears/beliefs, and develop strategies to help create your desired birth experience.  

  • These sessions are customized to meet your needs.

  • Phone & e-mail support during pregnancy and the initial postpartum period.

  • Access to my lending library.

  • Three 120-minute postpartum visits to discuss the birth and resolve feeding or other newborn care questions.

  • Backup Doula in case I am unable to attend your birth.

  • Service area Salt Spring Island BC, Canada

  • Continuous emotional, physical and informational support at your home, and/or hospital from early or active labor until 1-2 hours postpartum; this could include:

        

          Labor Support:

          - Emotional encouragement and reassurance
          - Breathing, visualization, and relaxation techniques
          - Positioning and movement suggestions
          - Massage (light)  & counter pressure
          - Gathering needed information for decision-making
          - Empowering effective communication with medical staff
          - Lactation assistance

          - The use of "Birth Bag" supplies

 

          “Birth Bag” Supplies:
          - TENS Unit (Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulation) 
          - Hot Packs
          - Rebozo
          - Massage Lotion

          - Aromatherapy oils

          - Massage tools

          - Fan

          - Kneeling Pads

          - And Much More!

 

BIRTH DOULA PACKAGE FEES:

My full fee is $1,200 for on Island birth

I have an additional $250 fee if I go off the island with you for labor.

I am open to payment plans and bartering.  I am a trained professional, I ask for fair compensation for my services. 

However, I also truly value the positive benefits of Doula care and do not want financial need to make those services inaccessible to families who desire them. Please contact me for details.  

 

POSTPARTUM DOULA SERVICES:

Postpartum Doula services are customized to the family’s needs and can include:

 

  • Breast/ Chest/bottle feeding support

  • Newborn and parent care

  • Light meal preparation

  • Light household organization

  • Light housekeeping

  • Laundry (Baby only)

  • Processing the birth experience

  • Interfacing with family

  • Providing community resources

  • Access to my lending library

  • Other needed support

 

POSTPARTUM DOULA FEES:

As a Postpartum Doula, I serve birthing people living on Salt Spring Island BC, Canada

Day Postpartum shifts will be booked with a minimum of 4 hours and a maximum of 8 hours per day. I typically book 30+ hours of care at a time. To reserve care, I require you to commit to an agreed-upon schedule in advance. The fees and deposits required are as follows:

Breastfeeding support: $35/hr deposit of 12+hrs to be paid in full upon registration

Postpartum Support $30/hr deposit of 32 +hrs to be paid in full upon registration

Mothers Helper (baby 4 months - 1 year) $25/hr deposit of 32+ hrs to be paid in full upon registration

 

GIFT CERTIFICATES:

Gift certificates may be purchased for any service.  If you would like to purchase a gift certificate please contact me.
